Modification of Logos
As a general rule the University’s logos may not be altered. This includes overlaying them with other designs or lettering, displaying only part of a logo, or changing the colors.
The University’s colors are Carolina Blue and White. Navy Blue, Grey, Silver and Black are used to complement the primary color palette.

Use with Other Trademarks (Co-Branding)
Any use of University marks with other trademarks must be approved by the Director of Trademarks and Licensing, or through a University contract.
No references to alcohol, drugs or tobacco-related products may be used in conjunction with University marks.
Material that may be demeaning to individuals or institutions (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, gender, or disability-related matters) may not be used in conjunction with University marks.
Profanity may not be used in conjunction with University marks.
The following policies, in addition to those above, apply to the manufacturing of licensed goods. Please note that each item must be approved in advance and in writing through the University’s licensing agent; and that factors in addition to those listed herein may be taken into account when deciding whether to grant approval.
Must have expiration date on packaging
No use of current players’ names, images, or likenesses is permitted that would violate NCAA rules and regulations.

Any commercial use of UNC music, including but not limited to the following, requires permission through Trademarks and Licensing:

- Here Comes Carolina
- Hark the Sound
